Meet Evan A. Shields,
IndeliCap Founder & CEO
Evan A. Shields is Founder, CEO & Managing Partner of Indelible Capital Partners, an impact-driven real estate investment and advisory firm, proudly based in Miami, Florida.
As a business leader, educator and public servant, Evan has dedicated his life to advancing economic opportunity for underinvested communities. He has led the investment, development or asset management of more than $4.0 Billion in institutional commercial real estate across every major property type and 30 U.S. metro areas, as an executive, fund manager and investment professional. His work specifically in affordable housing has helped house more than 22,000 low-income seniors and families across 16 U.S. states.
Prior to founding IndeliCap, Evan served as Chief Operating Officer for a Miami-based family office focused on workforce housing, solar and infrastructure development. Evan has also held executive leadership roles in institutional capital markets, investor relations and acquisitions with New York- and Miami-based firms, including BridgeInvest, a leading institutional real estate debt fund, R4 Capital, one of the U.S.’ top affordable housing LIHTC and TEBs syndicators, and PGIM Real Estate, the global real estate business of Prudential Insurance.
Evan graduated from the University of Virginia, where he completed a distinguished major in Political & Social Thought. Both IndeliCap founding and Evan’s career have been inspired by his undergraduate fourth year thesis at UVa, Minority Entrepreneurship & Economic Development: Toward A Model of Capital Access.
After college, Evan began his career as a high school math teacher with Teach For America, becoming the third-generation in his family to serve in low-income schools. He went on to earn an MBA with a full-tuition scholarship from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill - Kenan-Flagler Business School, with concentrations in Real Estate, Corporate Finance and Social Entrepreneurship. Evan is also currently a Public Leadership Credential candidate at the Harvard Kennedy School.
Evan resides in North Miami with his wife Dr. Adolphia Lauture-Shields, an OB-GYN, and their two-year old daughter Josephine. Outside of IndeliCap, he chairs the City of North Miami’s Affordable Housing Commission and serves on the on the boards of Miami’s Next Leaders, Teach For America Miami-Dade, the Greater North Miami Chamber of Commerce and the City of North Miami Zoning Board of Adjustment.
